[FAQ]: Migrating FileSystem from Repertoire

Below are the steps to migrate FileSystem to Ambience (provided that you have deployed the license key successfully)

>> Install JDBC Driver <<

1/ Place the JDBC driver in /ElixirAmbience/lib folder.

2/ Restart Ambience server to load the jar file.

3/ Log in into domain = eno and as administrator (username: admin, password: sa) to enable the driver

4/ Click on Admin → Drivers tab

5/ Find the driver name and tick the box to enable it accordingly. e.g: SQL Server (Microsoft 2005+)

>> Create FileSystem <<

1/ Access http://localhost:8080/elx/index.html in a web browser

2/ Fill in ‘Domain name’ as ‘eno’ (default) ==> Go

3/ Click on ‘Manage this domain’ on the top right corner

4/ Enter default username as ‘domadmin’ and password as ‘da’

5/ Click on ‘Repository’ tab ==> ‘Add File Store’

6/ Fill in Name, Description and Path, see example below:

Name: Template

Description: Storing report templates and datasources

Path: ./data/dacapo/eno/repository

7/ Next step would be ‘Add File System’

8/ Fill in Name of the filesystem (same names in used in Repertoire), choose Store that you just created (Store can be reused for many Filesystems) and tick on ‘Searchable’ if needed

The importance of this step is to keep the paths same as the structure in Repertoire so that there is no need to amend the file paths

9/ Start the Designer, you should be able to see the created Filesystem not under /user folder

>> Import files (report templates and datasources) to the FileSystem <<

1/ Log in the Designer with admin account

2/ Drag all sub folders and templates to the newly created FileSystem.

Please note that the importing process might take some time, depends on how large is the FileSystem. It would be completed when the console stops loading the files over.

Last but not least, kindly test out all report templates in UAT before deploying to the Production environment.
