This recipe demonstrates how to have merge cell effect in the Microsoft Excel-format output of a report template.

Steps taken:

  1. Create a report template (test.rml) using the datasource (FruitSales.ds).
  2. Merge 2 cells with 1 cell by using the “Horizontal Box”, “Cell” and “Vertical Box” elements, as shown in the “Layout > Shapes” tab page of the “Section 1”.
