Ambience 4.6.5 - Guide for Bulk Reporting

This entry guides you through on the configurations needed for Ambience 4.6.5 to cater to bulk reporting workloads.

We do recommend upgrading to Elixir Ambience v4.6.5 for more enhanced features and better stability.

1/ Do ensure the following configurations below are configured.

  • Disable File Indexing “ref 2.2.4, a
  • Disable User Temp Files “ref 2.2.4, c
  • Increase Temp File Removal Frequency “ref 2.2.2
  • Increase File Compaction Frequency “ref 2.2.3

2/ Do ensure the correct server sizing.

  • Do test your system sizing to get an optimum performance.
  • Recommended Ambience Server Sizing “ref 3.1
Job Engine x1 Core each 1-2 GB RAM each
Ambience Server x1 Core 1-2GB RAM

3/ Run in split batches rather than in a single run to spread the workload. “ref 3.3

4/ Import in the All-in-One Housekeeping Job and schedule it to run after every batch jobs. “ref 2.2.1

  • This new housekeeping job does the following:
  1. Clean temp files and logs
  2. Clean session
  3. Compact temp and file store
  4. Empty Recycle Bin (Only available in Elixir Ambience v4.6.5)
